Lotsava – care budget app for family caregivers · Last updated: November 1, 2026

This is an English translation for convenience. In case of doubt, the German version (Datenschutzerklärung) applies.

In short: Lotsava needs no account and has no server of its own. Your data stays on your iPhone and – if you use iCloud – end-to-end encrypted in your own iCloud. We cannot read it. No ads, no tracking, no analytics.

2. Data Lotsava processes

Care level and invoices are health data under Art. 9 GDPR. You enter them voluntarily; the legal basis is your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by deleting the data in the app or removing the app.

3. Where data is stored

4. Invoice scanning and reminders

Text recognition runs entirely on your iPhone. No image leaves the device. Deadline reminders are local notifications scheduled by your iPhone.

5. Claims for the care fund

When you create a claim PDF, you decide whether and where to send it. Lotsava transmits nothing automatically.

6. App Store and beta testing (Apple)

Downloads and updates are handled by Apple (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland). If you take part in the TestFlight beta, Apple provides us with crash reports, technical device data and your voluntary feedback. The contents of your care accounts are not included.

7. Contacting us by email

If you write to support@lotsava.de, we use your message only to reply and fix bugs (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can ask us to delete it at any time.

8. This website

lotsava.de is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub Inc., USA). GitHub processes technically necessary data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). GitHub is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics.

9. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection and withdrawal of consent (Art. 7, 15–21 GDPR). Since your data is only on your devices and in your iCloud, you can change or delete it yourself at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, e.g. the State Commissioner for Data Protection Baden-Württemberg.
